Had a good weekend. Came home early Friday with the intention of playing WoW for 48 hours straight but Shannon came into my lair and told me it was gorgeous outside and that we should do something.
"Let's go do something!"
"Ugghh....WHAT?"
"I don't know, let's go outside!"
"WHY!!??"
"Because it's awesome outside!"
"Grrrr..."
"Let's go camping!"
"OK, woo!!!"

So, we packed up the truck real quick, went shopping and had the tent set up out at Sugarloaf Ridge SP within a couple hours. The weather was really great and it was so nice to be out there. The only thing that sucked was not smoking(next weekend will be two months already). I've been kind of weaning myself off the Chantix lately and it's been fine, but camping is one place where I would normally smoke one million cigarettes(because it's fun and there's nothing else to do, duh). So I ate a crapload of sunflower seeds and sulked a bit. We tried to fly kites but the wind in that little mountaintop valley is just gusty and never really blows steadily.

Serendipity: I lost my iPod shuffle sometime during the weekend but today I got a Best Buy reward for $50, which is how much a new shuffle costs!

COngratulations on two months, that's great!

I'm impressed that you threw together a camping trip that quickly.

Thanks! I have all our camping gear in a big stack in the garage, so it's pretty easy to throw it all in the truck, pack some clothes and food, and jam.

I'm so jealous that you can just pick up and go camping. I need to live someplace like that.

Can't you camp at Sandy Hook?

I'm pretty sure that's not camping.

Heh, I don't know. I'm sure you have camping close by though.

Yeah, I could probably find something nearby that I'd be happy with. Mr. Seattle, on the other hand, is a different story. Did you know there are no mountains on the east coast?

Where was that Muddy Buddy thing held at? That place looked pretty nice.

Oh yeah, I did know there are not mountains out there, even though Shan protests that it's not true. :)

Don't get the ranch flavored kind. Plain, chili, lime, salsa, all good. Ranch, SUCK.

I think my favorite is low salt, but regular's usually the only one available, and that's fine. I can go through a lot at once, so most of them just have too much salt/flavor and starts eating away at the inside of my cheek.

Congrats on the two months!

I love sunflower seeds but /hate/ eating too many at one cuz all that salt makes the mouth all weird and wrinkling feeling inside.

Btw, how is the camping up at Sugarloaf? Just done a "night" trip there one time for a meteor shower but never been out there in the day, nor to camp. Worth it for a quick weekend trip?

Absolutely! The campground is really nice with lots of sites right on the creek, tons of great hiking trails and, of course, the observatory does public viewing nights all throughout the summer.

Yay for random camping! Good on you for the two months.

Have you ever done your own sunflower seeds? Start with plain, no salt, no nuthin, and toss them in a giant ziplock with some seasoning (I like cajun) for alight dusting, or spread them on a tray, mist with olive oil and caot with seasoning then bake @ 200 for a little bit for a good heavy coating.

You let women into your lair? Shit man, you need to go back and re-watch those "NO MA'AM" episodes of Married With Children again.
