So, I've finally taken the plunge. After years of saying I was going to learn HTML and all that other crap, I finally started last night. I've had some minor experiences putting stuff up on the web, but it's all been pretty weak. Last night I downloaded DreamWeaver. It's the first web authoring tool that I've tried that actually has a decent tutorial. I think that's why I'm sticking to it. Some things in the design interface are mind-numbingly slow, so I'll definitely want to hand code a lot of stuff, especially long stretches of text and simple alignment type things.

One thing I've learned: To make a great web site, you have to make...pictures. :-( Now see, I'm not the artistic type. I'm one of those people who like math and physics. The thing I like about putting together a web page is making everything fit and turning stupid text commands into little thingamabobs that actually do something cool. So, I guess I'll have to download old PSP and start getting my hands dirty if I'm to make anything of this.

I was going to link my web page, but now that I'm looking at it, it really doesn't look like much. Shit! And after all that work I put into it. ;-) Oh well, I'll be working on it a lot more, hopefully adding some flash and java crap(bells and whistles). Oh fuck it. At least you can check out the difference between my old page, which looks like it was done by a 3 year old and my new one, which looks as if it were done by a 7 year old. Warning: The new page only has two pages up, the welcome and the poetry pages. I will be transitioning everything to the new format over the next few days...weeks?

old: 3 year old page

new: 7 year old page

heheh, thanks. I'll try to tone it down a bit. Like I said, I'm no artiste. ;-)
