Nice. I've not really seen the Android system. How do you like it compared to MobileOS for instance? Running Mobile 6.1 right now on my HTC and when its time for me to get a new phone (will be Sept/Oct) I'm thinking of going with the Palm Pre... unless the Android looks like its going to be superior.

I can't really compare it to anything else as this is the first smart phone I've had(by smart I mean it uses a true mobile, non-proprietary OS). I can tell you that, compared to my last phone(Motorola RIZR Z3) the OS is much snappier and all the apps just WORK. The reason I chose this as my first smart phone, besides being a Google fanboy, is because the OS is open source, which, for any application, has consistently meant better and more diversity of homebrew apps, faster fixes for bugs and massive UI improvements. So far it looks to be the case with this Android phone.

The open source nature of the OS is what has been appealing to me too. I was even considering switching carriers to get an Android device until I heard Palm was releasing the Pre and only to Sprint. One thing I love about Palm is the same diversity of apps which always follow it. Now I don't know which one to go with :)

Btw, You probably already have it with Android, but Google released (not sure how long ago, as I only got the option to download it the other day) a nice app which gives you quick access to Gmail, Google Maps, News, etc. Its stuff like which might make me move away from the Palm Pre.
