While the cat's away..

...the boys will get geeky.

Yesterday it was my sister's b-day, so we went out to dinner at Olive Garden. As has become SOP with me, I always walk out of there looking like the Goodyear blimp, having consumed two salads, two bowls of pasta fagiolli soup, the Tour of Italy, two iced teas, seven breadsticks and half a bottle of wine.

When I got home, David was reading this forgotten realms book that had a super-super easy beginning D&D campaign in the back. He asked me about it and in no time I had some character sheets printed out (the internet RULEZ!), we were rolling up characters and I was DMing for David and Kyle. It was tons of fun. That might have been aided by the fact that I finished the rest of that bottle of wine while playing(one of those big bottles!) It sucked, because it was all basically from memory and we had to roll everything with six-sided dice, so I was winging it a lot on the rolls and whatnot. But, the boys had a lot of fun, so I am going to go buy some dice and the player's handbook and dungeonmaster's guide today so I can create a campaign for them and try to refresh myself on the rules. It's been about 190 years since the last time I've played.

Demo, you fucking dork.

Ok fine, so I admit, I'm a little jealous. It's been years for me, too, and I wouldn't mind giving it a try if only for nostalgia's sake.

Fuck you all.

You obviously dont know the special relationship Demo and I have. We dole out abuse to eachother like two dysfunctional, white trash sisters on Jerry Springer.

Besides he *is* a:

Jeez. Why don't you just take the kid's blood and offer it up to Father Satan? If you are going to sell their souls, you might as well do it quickly. Instead of the slow boring D+D route.

You call yourself a geek and yet you didn't even write a 20/10/4-sided die roller on the computer? or at LEAST download one? Pfft.

Actually, I downloaded one for my TI-89 graphing calculator last night but figured it would be too much of a pain to keep passing it around. I just ordered a pound of dice though, so we're all set.

You don't get the shirt, or what I said?
Aug. 6th, 2002 09:54 am (UTC)
The shirt, Pointdexter, the shirt.

;-) Oh, well there are some people who use programs to scan an IP address for open ports. If they find an open port, sometimes they can use it to compromise that machine. People generally don't like when this happens, as they have invested lots of time and money in their machines and networks.

Does that make sense?
