One of Kyle's friends told him he would sell him his computer for twenty bucks. I talk to the kid and ask him about the computer. "Oh, it's a pentium 4 and it's really nice!" Hmmm, ok. Well, he brought it over and it turns out it's an old P75 with 32 MB of ram, a 1 GB HD, no sound card and a crummy integrated video card. Of course I bought it anyway, yay toys! It had a terribly thrashed copy of Win 95 on it and I'm upgrading it to 98 now. I don't think it can handle any more than that. I also bid on 128 MB of ram on Ebay (the most it will take). I threw in an extra 13 GB HD I had laying around and a newer CD ROM drive, as well as a network card and USB ports. I think I may have another video and sound card laying around too. It will be enough for them to write reports and do basic web browsing and MP3 listening, but not much more, and that's fine with me.

Also, I took a few pictures from camping in the redwoods:

Aw, man, those pictures bring me back. I went camping there a bunch of time when I was a kid.

I've been kinda nostalgic for my old computers, too. I've been wanting to take 'em out of the closet and hook 'em back up, even though I have NO room fro them and they run quite iffily.

Sweet, new computer! Even if it isn't so new!

Those pictures are cool - you guys camp in style. My mom would make us sit on the picnic bench fulla bird poop.

Man, I've been camping before..but what you guys did was REALLY camp! I don't think it counts as camping as long as you are within at least 1 mile of facilities.
