I got on my bike for the first time in a million years yesterday. Man, did that feel good! I'm going to look at a gym today. I pretty much hate gyms because there are always Other People there, which annoys and embarasses me, but there are a few things that I just can't do at home, like lat pulldowns, dips, incline situps and tricep pushdowns. I know there are other ways to work the same muscles but none of them are really as good. I've thought about getting a universal machine or a bowflex or something and setting it up in one of the extra rooms, but I like having the extra rooms for guests or in case I get a second wife or something. Also, it's so hard to work out once I get home, since I can just sit down at the computer with a beer and a smoke instead of changing into workout clothes and sweating.

I just noticed you can add pictures directly to your post from your scrapbook with a little widget on the web update page, so here is one of my ass, just for you.

For a moment I looked and thought the pic showed your ripped apart leggings... but no, it was just a bike chair...

I need a bike. Ours were stolen off our balcony last year, so some asshole has my bike. The fiance got a new one, but I've been uninterested until this week when we got the doublewhammy of daylight savings and summerlike weather. I imagine the bike stores are raising their prices right now, expecting idiots like me to come in.

I feel the exact same way about gyms... haven't belonged to one since the late 80s when I could get a huge student discount. And I never went because I hated the atmosphere. But like you, I need someplace to work out other than home cause it's just too easy to plunk in front of the computer when I get home from work. So what gym are you checking out? I checked out Fusion Fitness. Decent place and new equipment, but the opposite way home from work, and I know that means I'll never go. So I bought a one month fitness pass to the Y last week to see how I like it. I've gone a few times. It's ok... I'd like to join a nicer gym but I'm way too much of a miser. I'm still not sure if I'll join now or just wait until next fall.

Thanks for the ass shot, btw.

Fusion is the one I looked at too. I work on Hoen and we live near the fairgrounds so it's the opposite for me too, but it's right off 12 so it's pretty quick to get there for me. I worked out there today and liked it so I'll probably get a membership there.

That sucks that someone stole your bikes, our house got robbed last summer, so I know how it feels. Luckily they spared the bikes in our case, though that was about all they spared. :\ Check out Craigslist for bikes, they usually have a lot on there. I'm looking for a new bike as well, my drivetrain is pretty trashed. I think I'll make myself "earn" it though, by doing some longer rides this season.

Craigslist. Good idea. I probably should've looked for my bike, or bike parts there. :/

That really sucks about your house. Ugh. We never dreamed someone would climb up to our 2nd floor balcony. We used to leave our sliding glass door open, which wasn't too smart. We were really lucky that they didn't come in and steal more stuff while they were taking the bikes...
