Asus eats my a hole once again.

So, I've learned a lesson while being a computer nerd. The lesson is: At any point in time, there will always be something wrong with one of your computers, no matter how tight you have them set up.

Tonight's lesson was pretty fun(meaning maddening).

All of the sudden my computer screen goes blank and the machine dies. Ok, whatever. Random windows bullshit. So, I try to reboot but get nothing. Just a beeeeeep---beep-beep-beep. WTF? Ok, I go look at the manual, what does that beep sequence mean? OH WOW, so amazing! The ASUS(fuck you asus) manual doesn't have the error codes in it! So i go online...nothing(fuck you asus). Ok, WTF? I just rebuilt this machine and it's been running fine. Everything is copacetic. WHY? Why can't anything just run the way it's supposed to? Fuck! Ok, fine, I open up the case and look around. So, you know those things that cover up the PCI slots? Little metal strips? One has fallen down on top of my video card and apparently shorted out the card. In the end, it's somewhat my bad, because somewhere along the line I didn't secure that strip well(it's because the last mobo had the PCI-E card taking up a different strip(why? I don't know.) But, if I could have just looked at the manual and it said video card error I could have just gone directly to the video card and checked/replaced it(I have a duplicate identical video card in one of my other machines since I meant to go SLI, not knowing that SLI also means you can't have dual monitors(the things they don't tell you)) Anyway, I would just like to say FUCK YOU ASUS one more time. Because they are stupid retarded asshole fuckfaces. If anyone has a P5N-D mobo I urge you to contact Asus and find out the error code(beep) sequences in case you ever need them, because it sure as shit is not in the manual, or online anywhere that I could find.

A note to my friends: PLEASE never, ever buy Asus motherboards. Never, ever, ever, ever! THEY SUCK ASS! For so many reasons!

In better news, I lost five pounds since I've been going to the gym. Apparently, replacing cigarettes with chocolate chip cookies is ok, as long as you make a pathetic effort at running.

PLEASE never, ever buy Asus motherboards.

You would suggest...?

I think I'll start using MSI for my main computers and Abit for lower end computers. From what I read it looks like they're both very stable.

I agree. I have had 3 total motherboards since I started building my own machines ~3.5 years ago. 2 ASUS - 1 came defective(exposure to extremely high heat somewhere - the CD it came with had holes in the plastic center), it was replaced by another which crapped out entirely less than a year later for no apparent reason, and the DFI that I have now. I'm going to avoid ASUS in the future.

I've had SO much frustration recently with these mobos. They used to be great, now they blow!
