I had to go give a deposition today for work. It was pretty interesting. Since I wasn't on trial it wasn't difficult or anything, mostly it was the documenting of a lot of incontrovertible facts, but there were some questions that I felt I just either couldn't recall or couldn't be certain on, which was the annoying part. It took about three hours altogether. Everyone was pretty cordial and there were only a few objections on technical details and speculation. It was all video recorded and teleconferenced and stuff, so I kind of geeked out on the hardware and techy stuff. Anyway, that is pretty boring, right? Want to hear the best part about going to this deposition:

I got to see Lance Armstrong! He was giving a press conference down the hall and, since I got there early, I got to sit in on it for about 15 minutes and hear Lance speak. That was the closest I have ever seen him and he looks AWESOME. They asked him a question like, "So, are you going to lead the tour?" and he was like, "Well, there are lots of people who could, but I am going to win." LOL. So badass. He was also talking about training here in Sonoma County and he basically said it was the most beautiful place to train. Hell yeah! The whole Astana team was in the room next door and I got to look in at them and their bikes and stuff. So cool! I took a totally crappy picture on my cell phone and you can't recognize him at all, but here it is for evidence:

That IS pretty cool! But, I really think you should have stood up and asked questions
"Vince Gonzales from the Santa Rosa Nudist Peeper. What are your thoughts on nude biking?"
Then give a big wink to the people sitting around you.

Awwwww....totally jealous! I've seen him up close riding in the Tour of Georgia, but never in person off the bike.

Very cool! One of the things I've loved about living here in Sonoma County has been stuff like this.

What was tone while he was talking? All deadpan and boring, or was he actually move lively and joking?

He was pretty lively! Pretty happy and smiling, but he has a certain seriousness about him, I guess it's more like intense focus. He cracked a few jokes while I was there.
