We've had a couple long ethernet cables run along the wall out to the garage to my computers for years now. It looks horrible and I've meant to put in wall boxes/faceplates and run cables through the wall. I called a few people and it was going to be $200-300. I decided I could buy the tools and the parts for way less and do it myself. Normally I'm very much against that type of thing since I am very UNhandy with repairs and stuff like that but since it has to do with computers/networking, I figured I could do it. Well, I did it! I actually couldn't believe it when I plugged in the cables and they worked the first time, heh. Anyway, that was my proud guy/nerd moment for the day.

Now to deal with the rat's nest of cables behind my computer, while I have it pulled out.

edit: Cables cleaned up. Also, yes! I made my first ethernet cable since I learned how many years ago and it worked!

Nice work. Once you get the hang of the wire strippers and the punch down/clamp, it's a breeze.

Nice job. Now you can start advertising to do that for people for $200-300 bucks and make some extra cash ;)
