Beer Week was pretty crazy. Let's see if I can remember everything we did...

Friday: I headed over to Russian River and stood in line for an hour an a half to get two growlers filled with Pliny the Younger. Came home and Shan and I polished one of them off. Got an e-mail a while later that said they had completely sold out in seven hours!

Saturday: Drinking the other growler of Younger and chatting.

Sunday: Went to HopMonk for a brewer's luncheon with Fritz Maytag. Ended up sitting right next to Dean Biersch and chatted him up during the lunch. Also ran into some brewing friends there.

Monday and Tuesday were liver health/work days :(

Wednesday: We drove down to the city, tried to stop at Iron Springs brewery but they weren't open yet. Checked in to the hotel, ate some pho, then headed to City Beer with jeff(whom we pretty much hung out with the entire time, thanks Jeff!) for the Green Flash/Elysian event. After that we headed to Pi Bar for Anchor Steam tastings. After Pi Bar we went to Rosamunde's for food and brews. We may have ended up at Lucky 13 after that.

Thursday: Went to breakfast "early" with Jeff, Liam, Heidi and Heidi's BF Kevin at Brenda's French Soul Food (mmm, crawfish beignets!) Headed over to Anchor but we had an hour to kill so stopped at Whole Foods and had a pint made special by a chef there and the Speakeasy Guys. Did the Anchor Tour and the massive tasting after. Went to Connecticut Yankee for lunch and more pints. Then Jeff, Shan and I headed to Tryptych for City Beer's Sour Valentine event. OMG, Odonata's sours were to die for! Next stop was the Toronado, which was packed so we skipped it and just got sausages at Rosamunde's, then headed over to Lucky 13 and finally back to Toronado (which smelled like piss).

Friday: Gordon Biersch's Bavarian Beer Breakfast for a few hours. Got to chat with a few different brewers and drink some neat beers (their barrel aged sour hefeweizen was amazing, as was a Spezial Rauchbier from Germany). After that it was back to Pi Bar with Jeff for Oskar Blues barrel-aged beer tasting (and then way too many expensive Belgians). Hooked up with Maria there and the four of us headed over to Church Key, but Shan and I left right away because I was too drunk to drink.

Saturday: Went to breakfast at Kate's Kitchen in the Haight, then across the street to Nickie's to get our pints on. Met up with Jeff and Seth and headed over to Noc Noc and drank too many of Speakeasy's triple IPAs. Headed back across the street to Molotov's. Needed food in a bad way so we got burritos and settled in at Lucky 13, where a keg of Younger had just been opened. Oh lord. I believe that was it.

Sunday: Headed into Oakland on our way to the Celebrator bash in Berkeley. Stopped at Pacific Coast Brewing for food and brews, then over to Beer Revolution, a super cool beer store like City Beer. Cabbed it over to Trumer Pils. The event this year was fantastic! Tons of great beers (and some gross ones) but also really great food in a great space with fun music. After that we hit up Barclay's pub for our final meal and a couple more beers.

It was a mystical journey through the beer universe. An epic voyage akin to those of Lord of the Rings and The Odyssey. We laughed, we cried, we belched. We made new friends and reconnected with old ones, and we got really, really hammered. It was a trying time, but someone had to do it and our tale will echo down the great drinking halls of history.

I tried to convince Vinnie we needed pancakes fro dinner tonight, but he wasn't having any of that. We are on a healthy kick for at least a week fro sure.

Very good recap honey. You just forgot one stop as far as I can tell. After Church Key, you insisting on eating a burrito while we were walking around North Beach and us finally ending up eating Thai food. But like you said, you were pretty loaded.

Oh, and my awesome Kriek and Chocolate Stout at Beer Revolution with chocolate cheezecake. mmmm
