fuxx0r and suxx0r and coolx0r and roxx0r!

fuxx0r!: We got the boat all rigged and ready to go at the Richmond marina, started the motor and the wheel wouldn't turn. I messed with it for a while and determined the steering cable had bound in place over 6 months of non-use. I tried to force it and snapped the cable. Yaiee! My poor boat! We derigged, brought the boat to the dealer who said they'd repair it at no charge and that it must have been a defective cable.

suxx0r!:We still wanted to go out, but with high winds (gusting up to 40 mph on the bay) we weren't about to try to make it to Jack London Square. (Sorry Sonya et all!) We also missed a Power Squadron meeting there with a guest speaker from the SF Bay Vessel Traffic Service which had sounded very cool. Dizzam!

coolx0r!:Soooo, we went to Petaluma, where we assumed it would be calmer and I totally jury-rigged a setup with the boat hook pole connected to the motor. It was pretty iffy going, but we made it to the Petaluma yacht club ok. We hung out and drank on the boat and then went out to McNears, a really cool pub in Petaluma and drank and ate like pigs. It was great. We had a lovely night and a lovely morning, eating breakfast at McNears. We headed out and dropped the boat off at the yard.

roxx0r!:Then we went to the booze store and bought a case of Guinness and 4 Guinness pint glasses (yay!). Then we went to the grocery store and bought a ton of good snack food(herb-encrusted brie and crackers, cocktail shrimp, sushi, etc...) Now Shan is making corned beef and cabbage with boiled potatoes and carrots and soda bread. We're going to put on some Irish folk music, drink tons of Guinness and eat ourselves into oblivion.

Now, I am going to take a shower and get all this boat grime off me, then, let the drinking commence! Have a great St Paddy's day everyone.

Hey. You're not wearing green? ::PINCH!::

I didn't wear green, but I had a bit of Irish in me last night.

If you don't get that, I'm married to a Dublinese guy.
