Weekends rule!

What a cool weekend. Friday night, I got boogered drinking Southern Comfort and beer. I think I spent most of the night in chat acting like an ass but, who cares? *I* had a good time, that's all that matters. MrCynical is a funny bastard, he is.

Saturday we went out for my birthday. We went to Third Street Aleworks, which is a cool microberewery with good beer and good eats. My mom, sister, cousin(and her bf) and of course Shan and the boys were all there.

Loot List:

Mom: Kick ass Hawaian shirts and shorts. And a tank top.
Sister: Dancer in the Dark (OMG, more on this later.)
Cousin and BF: Gift certificate to anywhere in the mall.

Dude, this camera is so awesome. So awesome, in fact, that it has been the one I've been looking at to buy for myself for a while now! Can you believe she got me the same one I liked all along? And I never even told her. She also got me a TON of memory to go with it, a case, an extra battery, a car charger, a waterproof case (for the boat and camping). I can honestly say this has been the best (material) gift someone has ever got for me. Having Shannon with me is the *best* gift a person could get, though, and I get that every day. I swear, I am a lucky bastard.

After 3rd st, mom went home and we dropped the boys off. We all went bowling for an hour or two. It was great fun. I haven't played in over (at least) seven years, and I didn't hit a single pin on my first two turns, but I came back strong and scored second out of the five of us. It felt good to power that ball and my technique came back in no time. I'd really like to do some more bowling.

After bowling, we went to the Boulevard Grill and had a few (ahem) drinks. Ok, we got plastered. So plastered, in fact, that Shan actually sang backup karaoke for my cousin. And she HATES karaoke! Most of the night was country songs, which frankly make me want to puke, but everyone else enjoyed themselves so I had a good time too.

Sunday we lazed around in bed 'til 11 or so, then we all went out to get breakfast/lunch at Baker's Square. God, I was still feeling icky from the drinking fest sat. We came home and sat around taking pictures and making movies and stuff with the new camera. Then we watched Dancer in the Dark.

First, let me say, I have been in love with Bjork since I was about 16. I've got everything she has ever done commercially (Well, the main stuff anyway. There are tons of bootlegs and remixes obviously.) She just fascinates me incredibly. Well, I never expected to get such an amazing performance in such a crazy format as Dancer. Hearing Bjork sing "My favorite Things", right off the bat, almost made me cry. The rest of the movie kept pace all the way up until the end, during which I sobbed silently, like a baby. The rest of the weekend followed without a hitch and I'm looking forward to next weekend already.

I got a "get out of work early" pass, so i think it will be happy indeed. Not that I wouldn't have left early anyway, but now everyone won't be bitter. :-D

Happy birthday, Turd!!!

Seriously, glad you had a ball, man. Drunkards are the coolest people all around.

Now get with the pictures. And no pictures of the "worm", if you know what I mean, and I think you do.
