Ya hear that? That's $1,700 going down the pipes, literally. I just had the plumber over here and to cut through the ceiling, repair the leak and replace the drywall it's going to cost fat dollahs. That means pretty much everything for the next couple months is cancelled, including the half next weekend in Monterey. Fuggity. Being a homeowner really bites the big dick sometimes. Even moreso, being a homeowner who doesn't know a lag screw from his own penis sucks even more. On a good note, if there can be one, the plumber seemed positive about what it was and very knowledgeable, so that's good, and of course they're bonded and licensed and all that jazz(cha!) I guess another good note is that this is the impetus I needed to finally paint the downstairs, so there's always that. I think maybe we'll skip Christmas and get hardwood floors downstairs, like we've wanted for quite a while. Happy New Year!

Yikes! Don't forget to call in your cancellation to the hotel! We'll miss you.

now seems like a good time
to learn the difference. Get a couple pieces of sheet rock, a few nails, some plaster and paint paper. it'll cost ya maybe 50 bucks, and the results just might be acceptable. If they're not, you can still pay someone else to come in and fix the hole in the wall. Whenever I contract out for home repair, I do as much of the work possible - prep, clearing, tearout and rebuild. Let the electrician do the electric work (though that's easy) and the plumber do to the plumbing (still rather easy if you read a book) and then the rest is just making it look pretty.

You *could* earn some extra money with that webcam, a PayPal donate button, and all of your fans (male & femala dontchaknow) from the sdmb confess!

If you take custom requests, I wouldn't be above fishing out my big spending limit MasterCard.

Will your homeowners cover any of it? A few years ago we have a bad pipe and they covered all but $200.00.

Homeowners insurance? I don't know, I wouldn't have even thought of it. I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks!
