Oh man, today is going to be One of Those Days. In fact, it was destined to be One of Those Days before I ever woke up. Is there really any good reason why I don't just buy a sailboat and sail away?

The first reason that comes to mind is that you did buy a sailboat and then never actually sailed it.

Really? That's weird, I remember sailing all the time.

Oh, I remember plenty of riding around in it. Just not a whole lot of actual "sailing". :)

There was tons of sailing. I guess we motored a lot when we had guests just to get to one place and back though. Most of the time we were on the bay we only used to motor to get into and out of docks/slips.

Yeah, but you never really sailed away.... as in sailed through the Golden Gate down to Baja, where I remember you said you were going to buy a house and retire about now :)

I never really felt comfortable taking that boat into the ocean. It was fine for lakes, bays, etc, but I just didn't feel it was a seafaring boat.

Someday I will get a nice cruising sailboat and chill.

Remember, as they said in To Wong Foo, "Substance or Style?"

It's ok! I've been playing Starcraft(hence why I was up at 2:30 this morning, lol).

I usually imagine using a land-based method, because although the seafaring life appeals to me greatly on an aesthetic and spiritual level, in reality I get seasick.

But having an RV and just cruising around, and then flying to Europe with a backpack and an iron constitution for imposing on people I barely know, those daydreams are hard to shake.

P.S. That's a great icon.

Just set an open course for the virgin sea, because you've got to be free to face the life that's ahead of you.

Well, man, sailboats are expensive. Better to save your $ for beer.

Oh shit, that's a good point. You orobably can't easily carry around a keg on a boat either.

Well, you can if you buy slaves. But that's even more money.
