After playing WoW for most of the day yesterday we went to 3rd St Aleworks to watch the superbowl. I gotta say, the actual game after the first five minutes was pretty boring. I decided to root for the C team since everyone else seemed to be rooting for the U team, so that touchdown right at the get go was exciting. Then the rest of the game went like this: U team - push, push, push / C team - fumble, trip, fall down, lose yardage, incomplete, etc...

Sports are just so boring and stupid, I don't understand how people get so into them. That said, I think I am going to try to get really involved with sports this year because I have a burning desire for one of those enormous HD plasma TVs and sports is one of the few things that is actually in HD format. We saw some of the newest ones at the Sony store in the Metreon a couple weeks ago and jesus, the resolution is just breathtaking. Definitely getting one this year sometime.

I've got a sinus cold. I haven't been sick in forever though, so I can't complain too much.

I got everything done that I had planned to do this weekend except organizing the camping equipment, so that's a good thing. Oh, and we got new couches this weekend. Or ordered them at least. This is the set we ordered. I sat down on the couch and it was so god damn comfortable I said I'll take it right then and there.

I know a lot of people hate Carlos Mencia, and I agree he is pretty stupid most of the time, but I have to admit I LOVE that "dee dee dee" thing. It makes me laugh and laugh and laugh. Whenever I see a really stupid person I have to say a silent little "dee dee dee" at them and then laugh to myself.

When Obama runs for president I am going to hang a HUGE banner on the back(street facing) side of our house that says "OBAMA FTW!" and FUCK the homeowners association if they have a problem with it.

I ♥ football. I just started watching this year, and I'm totally into it. I jump out of my seat and shout at the screen and everything. Last nights game was AWESOME.

The only thing I've ever found amusing by Carlos Mencia is the Dee-dee-dee. It's very witty :)

Jesus fucking christ those are some cheap prices for leather.

That is precisely the style I am trying to get away from, but I did not realize, until I got into the search, that this is pretty much the style my husband LOVES. So I'm pretty close to trading my green sofa and loveseat in this style in for a brown couch and chair in the same style. I'm consoling myself that at least it's CHANGE.

So you sat in these and loved them, eh? Hmmm.

Oh yeah they are SO comfortable. I don't know if they have this line at other stores elsewhere or if it's just Scandinavian Design but they most likely do. Hey, our last couch was green too.

I hate sports too but have an HDTV, and there are actually a lot of channels now that you can see in HD.

Yeah, excellent furniture choice. I love it when I boldly order something major like a couch (it happens so rarely). If I ever win the lottery (unlikely, as we don't play the lottery), I'm going to go around and buy about sixty couches just because I can.

PBS has all sorts of awesome programming in HD, I caught this awesome show about great American aquariums the other day. It was like being under water, you could see every single individual water molecule on the HD. I'm not kidding.

Netflix now has HD-DVD and Blu-Ray on select titles that you can elect to have shipped to you when they are available in place of standard DVD's. that'd be a legitimate reason rather than cultivating a love of sports to justify your need for high-definition. ;-)
